Be part of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team that’s full of passionate, user- centered people who care deeply about designing services right across the justice system.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is transforming the way we deliver crucial public services to a wide range of users, often with complex needs; protecting and advancing the principles of justice.

Our vision is a digitally-enabled end-to end justice system which can adapt and respond to changing needs. The scale and pace of our work, transforming the way our 74,000 staff work across over a thousand sites is challenging and requires strong leadership, functional expertise, innovative thinking and the vision to deliver the business changes successfully alongside the day to day running of the Department.

This demands a high calibre digital and technology function, with a pioneering team, to deliver a digital transformation programme that has already introduced new technology such as Office 365 and Google Docs to enable better collaborative working, agile ways of responsive team working, and a number of successful public-facing online services.

We still have much to achieve and as Director, Common Technology Services, you will be accountable for the IT services for the whole of the MoJ and its Agencies, including all public prisons, courts, tribunals, with ownership of outsourced supplier service contracts and developing and implementing a new in-house and multi-source commercial approach.

If you are a progressive, committed and inclusive technologist with a passion for excellence, delivering at pace and stable live services and are looking for an exciting opportunity to deliver and improve an essential public service, then please review our information pack and submit an application by clicking on Apply.
