$150-200K +Bonus

Can be located in Rancho Cordova, CA or Oakland, CA

*Can be a 75% remote position, individual will need to travel to the office 25% of the time. If you live out of state the company will pay for your travel expenses to and from the office for the 25% requirement*

The Sr. Manager of Cybersecurity Risk Event Management leads the team responsible for defining, developing, updating, and delivering the Security Threat Management, Digital Forensics, and Appropriate Use Risk Event Management services. The team predicts, detects, and responds to risk events corresponding to cybersecurity and acceptable use threats. Primary objectives for the role will be to minimize the impact of risk events through proactively improving our ability to prevent, detect, disrupt, investigate, respond to, and recover from those events.

This leadership role will:

  • Have overall responsibility for Cybersecurity Event Management services.
  • Maintain the service management plan for Cybersecurity Event Management services.
  • Ensure that processes and technical capabilities are implemented according to approved goals and policies.
  • Monitor and track the maturity of Cybersecurity Event Management services.
  • Proactively identify service improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for all concerns in the context of Cybersecurity Event Management services
  • Act as an expert for Cybersecurity Event Management services on technical and non-technical concerns
  • Maintain core service documentation.
  • Have situational awareness of all events, situations, and changes impacting Cybersecurity Event Management services.
  • Report regularly on the service to senior leadership.

In achieving those objectives, this leader and their team will:

  • Create target state and implementation roadmap for cyber threat management and acceptable use event management processes and supporting technology.
  • Lead maturity efforts to implement the process and technology roadmap.
  • Define data models for event collection; lead log generation, sensor deployment, and security data centralization.
  • Model threats to the environment and implement those models as content in the threat management platform.
  • Ingest, exploit, and analyze various sources of cyber threat intelligence.
  • Brief various audience on cyber threats, ranging from senior leadership to technical staff.
  • Lead resolution of complex incidents.
  • Serve as consultant to other IT and business areas in the development and implementation of strategic solutions to address weaknesses identified during event and incident management activities.
  • Define and execute the cyber threat incident response plan.
  • Provide on-demand cyber forensics and analysis to external stakeholders, including HR, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Coordinate with external partners, including law enforcement, legal counsel, and threat sharing communities in the definition and delivery of risk event management services.
  • Design and execute training exercises for the risk event management services.
    Partner with IT and business leaders to establish protocol for incident response activities.
