Beverley Building Society exists to help build better futures for its members and its community. Founded in 1866, the Society continues to serve the needs of generations of families across the East Riding of Yorkshire & Hull by combining good value savings and mortgage loans with excellent customer service in a friendly, helpful and flexible manner.
The Society now seeks to appoint an inspiring leader as Chair of the Board who is aligned to its strong purpose and values. He/she will demonstrate capability and understanding of board leadership and governance, assurance, accountability, fiduciary responsibility and working with and through an experienced Executive team.
The Chair will have gained prior experience in a Non-Executive/Chair role and bring a background in a regulated industry, ideally financial services. He/she will bring experience, understanding and an energy to engage with external stakeholders, communities, interest groups and in particular regulators.
Proven ability to lead strategic board discussions with an understanding of the strategic ambitions of the Society is vital, along with pragmatism and above all a belief in the values and ethos of Beverley Building Society as a modern, regional independent mutual.
The appointment will be subject to PRA/ FCA approval and candidates should either already be approved or have the gravitas, experience and understanding of the UK regulatory environment to be so.
