With ambitious growth plans on the horizon, Elementis are offering a very attractive opportunity for someone to head their statutory reporting team.

Job Description:

  • Liaison with auditors on interim and annual audit
  • Production of consolidated group results in accordance with IFRS to tight deadlines, including drafting notes
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for UK subsidiaries
  • Provide technical guidance and information to operating companies and other group finance staff to aid compliance with Group financial requirements
  • Liaison with shared service centres to ensure statutory accounting process is completed in accordance with financial reporting standards and to required deadlines
  • Consolidate flash results with meaningful and incisive commentaries
  • Monitoring and control of provisions, exceptional items and shareholders funds
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the Group FC and CFO where necessary

The Successful Applicant:

  • Qualified accountant with audit background, ACA or ACCA. Technically strong in IFRS
  • FTSE 250 experience in group reporting, consolidation etc.
  • Experienced in the use of Hyperion or a similar consolidation/reporting package and excellent numerical and spread sheet skills
  • Experience of complex systems environment and system change projects
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, communicate effectively, demand performance from others
  • Excellent inter personal skills and be a persuasive and credible individual with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Must be self-motivated and have a pro-active approach, be capable of working on own initiative, with the ability to ensure compliance with detailed requirements
  • Requires a team player demonstrating maximum flexibility, individual must be consistent with a good standard of work, disciplined and deadline conscious
  • Comfortable and experienced in a financial systems environment, able to identify improvements and provide leadership input to systems implementation/improvement projects
  • Strong sense of integrity, always does the right thing and encourages others to behave in the same way
