My client is a well-established, niche provider of specialist IT services with a client list consisting almost entirely of FTSE 100 companies and Government departments. They are world leaders in many of the areas they operate in and their technical expertise is recognised by the British Government. As part of their rapid and continued expansion they now wish to hire a Bid Manager.
The Bid Manager will work closely with the sales team to create winning bids and proposals for IT services. He or she will evaluate tender documents, contribute to bid no bid decisions and provide leadership for the bid team, drawing in technical and commercial resources as required. The Bid Manager will ensure that the bids produced are to the highest possible standard and include compelling win themes. He or she will develop bid strategies in line with business opportunities, keeping them under constant review, and will be actively involved with bid negotiations.
The successful candidate will have a background in managing bids and proposals, not necessarily gained in the IT sector. Likely to be of graduate level of education, he or she will have good project management skills, sound commercial acumen and will be highly customer-focused. Needless to say, excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as well as proven negotiation skills.
