One of the UK’s first social investors, the Social Investment Business (SIB), specialises in helping organisations become more resilient and sustainable so that they are in the best place to grow and increase their impact. Since the original fund was created in 2002, we have provided over £400 million worth of loans and grants to hundreds of non-profit organisations across the country. We remain committed to providing charities and social enterprises with the finance and support they need.

This is an exciting time to join in what is a pivotal role for the organisation -  as our Director of Enterprise and Development you will be the strategic lead for all of our enterprise and commercial development activity, driving income generation to deliver a step change that will ensure we are able to play an active and innovative role in the market, delivering services and activities that put our customers at the heart of everything we do.

We’re looking for a leader who is entrepreneurial and strategic in their approach with a proven track record of driving income growth from multiple sources. With in-depth knowledge of business modelling, finance raising and business case development, you will bring the experience to develop and manage significant partnerships with a range of funders: from banks and government to foundations and high-net-worth individuals. A confident communicator, you will bring the credibility and drive to engage effectively and work well with stakeholders both externally and internally.

Whether or not your experience is already in the social investment space or in the commercial world, you will bring a collaborative approach to add immediate value to our leadership group along with the ability to inspire and develop a high performing team.

Social Investment Business helps charities and social enterprises tackle some of the biggest problems we face, and there has never been a more important time for us to be doing so.
