Head of SAP Operations

The role reports directly into a Vice President and is responsible for building the SAP System Support function from scratch within a global IT environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all SAP Application Management Operations including ERP, GRC, and Business Warehouse etc.
  • Ensure Services and Service Level for the SAP applications delivering Support globally 24/7
  • Define KPIs & ensure system monitoring (including Early Watch Reporting)
  • Ensure all SAP Operations processes & related support processes, change management processes and maintenance window definition
  • Release management including transport management & change management of major or minor SAP releases
  • Operate as gatekeeper to ensure the quality of new SAP solutions
  • Manage integrational aspects to meet availability/quality targets
  • Develop own people and skills
  • Continuously improve processes, tools, procedures as well as organization/responsibilities
  • Exchange experience with other system owners

  • Solid experience within a similar, international SAP leadership role
  • Leadership and people management
  • Management professional with experience of both local and multinational leadership
  • Collaboratively provides direction and guidance to own team & able to interact positively with people of all levels of experience
  • Ability to build a business unit from scratch - Experience in recruiting and building up a team of SAP Systems colleagues including Transportation coordinators, Applications consultants, and Integration management consultants
  • Delivers on financial and qualitative targets in own area of responsibility
  • Methodological expertise
  • Project Management experience within SAP
  • ITIL Service Mgt.
  • Moderation and facilitation, conflict management and collaboration
  • Strong change management profile
  • Subject-matter expertise in own application
  • SAP Basis within the context of GTS, GRC, BW, ERP as well as Netweaver
  • SAP EHP, HANA & Solution Manager experience
  • Experienced in controlling and monitoring the operational business of SAP Applications
  • Extensive expertise related to IT service delivery
  • Other skills
