There has never been a better time to join DWP if you are inspired by the opportunity to re-imagine our country's future using data, design and technology. DWP offers uniquely challenging and fulfilling career opportunities for leaders interested in making a genuine difference to society on a massive scale - with 84,000 colleagues across 800 locations.
DWP Digital provides the critical products, applications and infrastructure that underpin the core services that DWP provide, as well as those provided across Local and Central Government. Key to the successful operation of all the services are numerous integration technology platforms. Our integration platform ensures the safe passage of millions of pieces of data across our network and beyond, linking DWP to other Government departments and banking services.
As we embark upon the biggest technology transformation in Europe, it is inevitable that the underpinning integration platforms range from cutting edge through to older technologies and patterns. This provides a major challenge as we look to unleash the power of our platform to enable DWP to build new Digital Services quicker and more efficiently, whilst remaining stable and secure. To enable our transformation to happen at pace, we need an inspirational and visionary leader to lead the delivery of a common platform, utilising the latest technologies, microservices and open APIs.
This will require:
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of a range of integration and the latest development technologies in large complex application environments
- An understanding of XML, JSON and RESTful APIs, including associated benefits, inter-dependencies and organisational challenges associated with delivering in an API-focused environment
- A track record of successful delivery using agile methods, with experience of working in an agile environment and familiarity with methods such as Scrum, Kanban, TDD, SAFE, LESS
- Agile qualifications such as Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Owner, Agile Project Management, or willing to work to achieve these
This is an exciting opportunity to expedite the transformation of digital services, leveraging the latest open technologies and agile methodologies; to build reusable solutions that transform our services and open up opportunities for re-use across and beyond government services.
