Grafton Banks Finance has been exclusively retained to recruit a Finance Director for a Surrey based, £100m turnover, PE backed, global manufacturing and distribution company. The company is now looking for an experienced FD to join the management team, reporting to the MD with a dotted line to the Group CFO. The FD will act as a genuine partner to the MD and wider Leadership team enabling them to make strategic and commercial decisions based upon sound financial assumptions. The FD will ultimately have the energy and passion to grow the business.

The Finance Director will:

  • Play a key role in the leadership of the business, contributing to strategy whilst managing and developing an ambitious finance function through the next growth phase
  • Play an integral role in developing executional plans in line with the businesses' vision
  • Bring a strong financial perspective to strategic plans, including impacts on cash, growth and profitability
  • Provide leadership and coach the finance teams across the region, ensuring the strong talent within it develops and grows with the business
  • Direct the operations of the finance team, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow forecasting, tax and transfer pricing
  • Ensure that the finance function has robust processes that are able to scale as the business grows, producing timely, accurate financial information and disciplined financial controls 
  • Manage and develop the regions IT activities to support the our growth plans whilst staying aligned with the corporate strategy

The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Have experience leading a finance team in an international, growth-oriented business
  • Have experience in a PE backed business that is focused on bottom line results
  • Possess manufacturing or distribution sector experience, although not essential
  • Have been directly involved in strategic analysis and due diligence with a number of small to mid-size acquisitions
  • Have built and up-skilled a finance team
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Have a high attention to detail allied to the ability to contribute strategically
  • Be commercially astute and can quickly assess business priorities and opportunities
  • Bring strong intellectual horsepower, intellectual curiosity and an attitude of continuous improvement to the organization
  • Have a high degree of presence and personal gravitas in order to liaise with and to influence
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Be able to identify inefficient business processes and able to drive change among cross-functional teams
