In 2017, CSH Surrey became the county's largest out of hospital provider, delivering safe, high quality health services to more than one million adults, children, young people and their families. CSH Surrey works with primary care and other partners to deliver tangible health outcomes through a forward-thinking, skilled and committed workforce. In April 2017, CSH Surrey mobilised two new contracts to run North West Surrey adults’ and the Surrey-wide children’s contract, on-boarding over 900 new staff. CSH Surrey now employs more than 1,600 nurses, therapists and support staff, all of whom are partners in CSH Surrey’s success as an employee-owned social enterprise. This substantial growth in service delivery and staff numbers reflects the significant opportunities ahead, as well as challenges facing the organisation.
CSH Surrey now wishes to appoint an outstanding Chief Finance Officer to lead its finance, procurement, contracts and estates functions. Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with senior colleagues, this individual will lead and co-ordinate strategic, operational and financial planning across the organisation so the organisation works as successfully internally as it is impactful externally. Alongside the CEO, the CFO will play an important role externally, building relationships and acting as an ambassador for the organisation while shaping and embedding the processes and approaches that will ensure CSH Surrey’s success as it continues to grow.
Candidates will have strong leadership experience in a substantial finance function in a complex organisation. They will have a strong track record of delivering positive change, supporting commercial decision making and building organisational capacity. Whilst experience in the Health and/or Care sectors may be helpful, CSH Surrey’s priority in this appointment is to bring in an individual whose leadership approach and capability, and financial and contracting expertise, will enable the organisation to maximise the opportunities ahead.
