Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Director to join their Leadership team. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for an established Operations Team of over 300 people based at approximately 20 sites throughout the UK and Ireland. Working with key business partners you will develop creative solutions to improve customer service, improve organisational effectiveness and create a dynamic culture to embrace change.
As head of the Operations function, you will be responsible for leading a team of people with responsibility for all aspects of site management and centralized functions: production, QC, warehousing, materials management, logistics, engineering & facilities and supply chain.
With full P&L responsibility you will define the Operations strategy around Sales and Marketing activity. You should be open to feedback and flexible in your approach. You will have strong & proven leadership skills, be a confident communicator, visible and able to influence at all levels in the organisation.
What are they looking for?
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and highly organised individual with previous experience in a chemical production or distribution environment. Candidates with experience of transporting hazardous goods are also welcome to apply.
You will be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal. You will be open to new ideas and create a true team environment in which you work. A recognised Health & Safety qualification, either IOSH, NEEBOSH or equivalent is desirable. You must hold a full UK driving license. This role will require you to travel to a number of different sites across the UK and Ireland.
