A Pan-European role within a Global Corporation. Negotiating and Securing Profitable Long Term Contracts with values up to and exceeding $100 million.
Large Scale Industrial Services for the Metals Processing, Recovery and Recycling sectors together with associated Environmental and Logistics services.
Flexible Location, UK or EU, plus significant European Travel
Competitive Package, Bonus and Benefits
This is a key appointment within a leading division of a major US based global organisation that provides a wide range of services to the metals processing sector, particularly the steel industry and increasingly to other sectors such as copper and aluminium.
The role carries overall responsibility for the efficient management of commercial relationships with all European clients and new prospects with specific responsibility for the conduct and successful commercial closing of negotiations regarding existing contract renewals, contract extensions or add-ons of new services, and new business. Individual contract value can often approach or exceed $100 million with a lifetime extending over several years, reflecting the significant commitment of capital resources and the complexity of operations involved. The commercial process for each major contract can itself take up to two years in its conduct together with significant support from technical, legal and financial functions.
Reporting to the Divisional Commercial Director for the entire EMEA region and managing a small specialist in-house team the position calls for a senior commercial and contracts specialist who has proven experience of major contracts in the industrial services sector coupled with breadth of European territory experience and, ideally, associated language skills. You will be qualified to Master’s level in a commercial discipline, perhaps with initial technical, legal or language qualifications followed by an appropriate MBA, but above all you must be able to demonstrate your ability to successfully handle contractual work at this level and to successfully close deals as well as progress them.
The ability to develop long term mutually beneficial business relationships is essential coupled with a style which naturally involves team working, given the range of resources required to operate effectively. You will also have the tenacity and persistence to pilot a route to success over extended negotiation periods in competitive and challenging circumstances. This senior role offers negotiable benefits with the flexibility to attract the best and carries significant long term potential within this highly successful and growing international group.
