Finance Director – NS&I
Salary: c£116,500 plus benefits

NS&I is one of the largest savings organisations in the UK with over 25 million customers and more than £140 billion invested. As Finance Director will play a crucial role in the continued success of NS&I. You will lead the management of our financial controls and strategy as both a financial services organisation and a government body.
NS&I combines a history dating back over 150 years with a record for continuous improvement and innovation, regularly winning awards for quality and service. Our role is to offer retail savings products (including Premium Bonds) to help to provide cost effective funding for the UK Government. We are an Executive Agency of the Chancellor of the Exchequer with a direct link into HM Treasury.

About the role
The Finance Director leads the teams responsible for the financial strategy and management of NS&I playing a key role in helping to drive forward business and commercial strategy while ensuring the organisation is compliant and consistent with the requirements of a range of stakeholders including regulators, auditors and central government. You will also lead a Business Insight Team which provides the business with critical analysis around customers, products and channels as well as other management information.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, this is a board post which offers extensive professional challenge and stimulation in providing guidance and financial control to an organisation which is simultaneously a financial services organisation, a provider of broader B2B services and a government body.
You will act as a member of NS&I’s executive management team and board, contributing positively across the full range of decisions necessary to manage the business.
For this critically important post we require an individual who can successfully place financial and control risk management in a commercial context. You will also have substantial experience in helping to drive improved business performance through use of information and analysis at a senior level (including exposure to Board and Executive Committee)
Clear thinking at a strategic level is vital, as well as an ability to influence thinking across the entire business. An accountancy qualification is essential. The role is equivalent to Senior Manager Function 2 and 3 under the Financial Conduct Authority Senior Manager regime.
