Client Description

Green Park is proud to partner with one of the UK's major transport/infrastructure groups based in Central London.

Background of role

Their Corporate Finance Director requires the support from a corporate finance/funding professional to support them on complex funding arrangements, the economic factors that can influence them and who can directly deal with Government/The Treasury.

Role Description:

  • Support the Corporate Finance Director and senior finance leadership team
  • Directly manage the Corporate Finance Manager and work with the external consultants
  • Help develop the funding arrangements
  • Work with internal/external stakeholders to account for inflation, fx and hedging
  • Develop and maintain the group's funding model
  • Work closely with the government bodies on project affordability vs funding agreements currently in place
  • Act as a key contact for the C Suite on questions relating to fund arrangement
  • Lead the group's funding envelope and funding risk roles
  • Develop a long-term funding strategy
  • Work collaboratively with the DfT
  • Advise senior management on feasibility/affordability or the programme(s)
  • Lead negotiations with the DfT and HM Treasury
  • Perform a leadership role during the future Spending Reviews
  • Lead on other funding related matters such as the development of business cases

Candidate description:

  • To have the necessary skills to support the Corporate Finance Director, you will likely have developed your experience across corporate finance, treasury, funding and infrastructure
  • These skills can also have been gained working for one of the top 10 accounting firms within their corporate finance teams specifically focused on transport and infrastructure
  • To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate your track record of working directly with, or for the Government on funding agreements relating to infrastructure or similar capex projects
  • Strong experience of financial modelling (VBA), analysis, and ideally fx is also required
