Berkhamsted Schools Group is a leading group of independent schools and one of the largest, most dynamic and forward-looking in the UK. Set within easy reach of London and within the Chiltern countryside, the Group offers high quality education and care for girls and boys from the age of 5 months through to 18 years.

Berkhamsted operates a diamond structure that comprises six highly successful co-educational and single-sex schools, educating over 1220 pupils in the Senior Schools and 760 in the co-educational Prep, Pre-Prep and Day Nursery. The schools are located across five sites: four in the historic and prosperous town of Berkhamsted and one in the sought-after town of Amersham. Each site offers superb facilities and the Senior Schools have both day and boarding students.

The Principal and Governors wish to appoint an exceptional individual to succeed Peter Nicholls, following eight years of outstanding service. The Chief Operating Officer will lead a team responsible for the commercial, operational and financial aspects of the Group and be a key part of the Executive Team, reporting directly to the Principal. Senior leaders with an innovative and commercial mind-set and the requisite strategic and operational skills are encouraged to apply. Prior experience of schools is not required, but an enthusiasm to work in a school community and an appreciation of the educational and regulatory requirements of a job such as this are.
