Management of Major Banking & Finance Accounts

My client is a leading provider of specialist managed IT services, consulting services and project services primarily into FTSE 100 companies. They are an established, rapidly growing company with an enviable reputation for their technical solutions, innovation and creativity, employing some of the best brains in their sector. To support their continued growth, they now require an additional Key Account Director.

The Key Account Director will be responsible for managing a small number of significant, established accounts and growing the accounts in line with strategic objectives. Working very closely with technical leads and the Head of Sales, the Key Account Director will develop the account strategy for each customer and enable close engagement across all areas of the business. The criticality and technical complexity of the services my client offers ensures that the process of building customer relationships is multi-layered, and requires careful management by the Key Account Director to reach a successful conclusion. Working at C-level, the Key Account Director will drive the commercial relationship with the accounts, and understand the client’s business objectives and long-term strategies.

The successful candidate will have solid direct sales experience gained selling IT, telecoms or similar services into the banking and finance sector. Candidates need to be highly motivated, intellectually curious and adept at building strategic relationships. It is essential that candidates are able to demonstrate the management of complex sales processes and ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders. Training in structured sales management techniques such as Miller Heiman or SPIN will be highly advantageous. Above all candidates will need to be passionate team players, able to blend their skills with my client’s existing world-class capabilities.
