Joining FM Conway as the Business Services Director, you will have a direct impact on the profitability of our exceptional business. Responsible for business service functions – including IT, Resource and Planning, Business Facilitation, Quality Management, Marketing and Bids, you’ll make it your mission to control operations in line with company goals, budgets and timescales – ensuring we are always delivering service excellence.       

Your day-to-day activities will involve evaluating business service performance and identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change. As part of this, you’ll work closely with both your fellow Directors and the Board to input into business plans and make sure everything you do is completely integrated with our operations. Acting as lead for both service delivery and client liaison, promoting FM Conway externally will also be a key part of your remit. More than that, you’ll develop talent within the organisation – whether that’s through coaching your team, cascading best practices or planning career development opportunities.

To be a brilliant Business Services Director, you will have considerable experience managing or directing business service functions. You’ll be a great team player as well as an individual thinker and have a strong commercial focus together with excellent communication skills at every level. You’ll also be able to build relationships to achieve success, as well as demonstrating solid business ethics, like fairness, inclusion and respect.   • Prior experience of managing / directing business services functions
  • Previous experience of working in the Construction or similar industry referred 
  • Previous role(s) in a commercially focussed organisation 
  • Computer literate
  • Technically competent in professional management
  • Educated to degree standard / NVQ 5 / HND or equivalent. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills at all levels
