The Financial Times endorses outstanding business executives

The Financial Times may not be the first newspaper that comes to mind when you think of pioneering media on the LGBT issue but that is exactly what the pink 'un has been doing now for the past 3 years.

In association with OUTstanding we first published the Top 100 list of global LGBT executives and in that time we have seen far more LGBT business people 'come out' with a confidence that perhaps they wouldn't have had before. As the 2015 winner, Inga Beale, CEO of Lloyds of London said at the time 'I now feel as though I can bring my whole self to work'.

The Financial Times were the first global media to adopt this agenda in 2014 and many have since copied but have never quite achieved the status of these awards. Carola Hoyos, editor of FT Executive Appointments hit the nail on the head when she claimed 'The FT is the publication that global executives trust and that is why the report is such a powerful weapon'

The attendees at the gala dinner each November are a stellar bunch and in 2015 none other than Mark Zuckerberg himself sent a video message (I expect using Facebook naturally) to congratulate the FT and Outstanding on a spectacular project.

The FT will be publishing the next LGBT OUTstanding report in November 2016. It's clearly not just the paper that's pink! Have a look at the video from last years' event.
