Job Details

Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides health services at hospital and across the London Borough of Hackney community. The Trust employs over 3500 members of staff working out of 75 different sites and aims to reach an annual turnover of £400m by 2020. Homerton is a part of the UCL Partners, one of the five academic health science partnerships in England and is a member of the QUEST Network, which focuses on benchmarking and improving quality within organisations.

The Deputy Director of Finance reports into Phill Wells, the current Director of Finance who joined the Trust in October 2018 from the Civil Service. The role will act as the effective day-to-day operational manager for the Finance Department and be responsible for ensuring all statutory reporting requirements to external stakeholders, such as NHS Improvement, are met accurately and within the appropriate timescales. The role will also ensure that internal financial information requirements are successfully met, and the Finance Department is providing clear and decisive leadership to the Trust. The post will also play a key role in providing strategic financial management advice through Long Term Financial Models which they will oversee.

The successful candidate must be a methodical thinker, credible in person, professionally qualified accountant with exemplary leadership skills, high standards and strong attention to detail. You must be a naturally strategic thinker, and a robust, clear communicator to enable you to build effective relationships and influence challenging individuals at all levels, in and out of the organisation. Your significant post-qualification experience will have been gained within a large, complex and public sector organisation, but you must demonstrate detailed understanding of the NHS financial regime.

For further information on the opportunity please visit contact Adrian Watts from Allen Lane on 0207 101 8807 or 0781 629 0865 at any time.  Please send through your CV, supporting statement and current remuneration by clicking "Apply" by Friday 22nd February.  Please reference the role you are applying for in the subject heading.
