Chief Operating Officer

Be at the centre of everything Colchester

In Colchester we thrive by doing things differently. It’s what enables us to ensure that our strategic leaders are actually strategic. It’s also what has driven an ambitious commercial agenda that has launched three subsidiary companies and established a financial foundation for the council to build for the future. This role will place you at the very centre of our organisation - with an oversight over all of organisational activity; scrutinising and challenging performance; working with elected members to shape strategic financial planning. Any ambitious candidate will be quick to identify that this role is the perfect platform to build your credentials as a future Chief Executive.

It’s an opportunity that demands the capacity to think, interrogate, and influence at a strategic level, and to advise on medium and long term financial and resource planning. You’ll need to demonstrate a highly developed and rounded understanding of risk and how to manage it, and it’s essential that you understand the challenges of working within a politically dynamic organisation. We’ll also want you to show that you are someone who continually asks “What’s next?”, placing innovation at the centre of improvement.

Visit www.Colchester-COO.co.uk or contact Steve Guest at Solace in Business on 020 7976 3311 for a confidential discussion.

Closing date: 27th February.
