This National Service Operations Manager position is an excellent career opportunity for an ambitious, professional Field Service Operations Manager to progress their career further into a national role. As part of the European division of a world-wide group the company supplies a broad range of electro-mechanical based products which involve an extensive maintenance and service offering and are used in the building environment.  

The National Service Operations Manager will be reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead and develop a national field service operations team which provides full field service activities across a substantial, UK-wide customer base. This is a budget accountable role and through a fast growing team of c40 service engineers, the primary objective is to deliver a world-class, customer service experience. Based in Sheffield, this is a very hands-on role and leading from the front you will develop, motivate and train the team and ensure that a culture of continuous improvement in the service offering is embedded in the business. 

The client would also like to see a more pro-active sales approach being adopted by the engineering team when on site with customers and in addition you will ensure the maximum efficiency of their time on customer sites through improved journey planning and effective time management. A candidate for this National Service Operations Manager role will be on the upward curve of their career with a progressive track record in field service management is required. Ideally graduate qualified in an electro/mechanical discipline you will currently be leading a field service organisation in a business with a large in-field customer base, you will probably have been trained by a blue chip professional organisation and are likely at the moment to be at regional manager level and looking to step up to a national role. Specific areas of interest to the client include products used in the building environment such as doors and entry systems, lifts, HVAC, alarms, building technology, access control, or products in the building envelope that require service support. As National Service Operations Manager you will also need to be up to date with modern management systems and techniques, have excellent leadership qualities, be comfortable working in a large group environment and be able to demonstrate that your ability matches your ambition for this key role. As the group is substantial, career prospects going forward are very real in both the short and long term, both in UK and overseas.

This National Service Operations Manager position requires that you are based within a realistic commute to Sheffield where you will have a permanent office base and that you are also prepared to travel nationally as the role requires.
