An exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement specialist with portfolio management experience to join my client, a multinational healthcare company. The newly created role will have accountability for managing and establishing key client contracts, for strategic sourcing of new suppliers, and for negotiating specific tenders with clients and third party suppliers in order to define the long-term strategic goal of the division. He/she will have responsibility for regularly reviewing costs and performance, and, where necessary, will have the autonomy to derecognise providers where performance is below the required standard. This is a senior leadership role, and as well as playing an active role within the senior management team, the successful candidate will have responsibility for developing and leading a high performing team (3-6) in order to achieve targets and goals within the portfolio of programmes.

You will be/have:

  • A background in strategic sourcing, vendor management, multi-million contract negotiation experience (and thus significant value-add)
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • The gravitas necessary to deal with senior stakeholders
  • Prior experience in the healthcare/hospital space looked on favourably
  • Prior experience with outsourcing experience looked on favourably
  • An MBA / Finance background desirable
