Our medical research charity client, The British Medical Journal, are looking for a Senior Project Manager to help manage all aspects of the Clinical Improvement Project Portfolio.

Role description:

The Senior Project Manager will sit within the CID (Clinical Improvement Division) which is the fastest growing department within this business worth £25 Million with a very ambitious international growth plan for the next 5 years. To better support the Clinical Improvement growth and transformation plans, The British Medical Journal are expanding their Project Management capability across the Division and as a result, are seeking to recruit an exceptional Senior Project Manager, aligned to deliver business critical projects. The organisation is key to the global development of medical information and this role is vital to delivering projects that will enable this medical information to be shared around the world.

Who we're looking for:

The Senior Project Manager will assume responsibilities for helping to manage the Clinical Improvement project portfolio. The typical Project Portfolio will consist of 3-5 projects that will be a mix of Business Change, Solution Delivery and Digital Projects. Furthermore you will manage all aspects of project management, project governance, project financials, and project reporting; adopting proven project management methodologies and protocols (e.g. Prince 2, Scrum/Agile Delivery).

The ideal candidate for the Senior Project Manager role will possess the following attributes:

  • Proven track record in delivering Business Change Projects
  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills - ability to influence at all levels
  • A comprehensive understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. SCRUM, PRINCE2)
  • Excellent grasp of detail and presentation
  • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills
  • Sound judgment on complex issues - often under pressure
  • A background in Management Consultancy and/or Medical Information will be advantageous
  • Ability to commute to Central London
  • MBA/MA in relevant degree desirable but not essential
