This role will assist the Investment Director in ongoing management of client portfolios taking full account of each client’s financial and ethical criteria. This will involve conducting regular reviews and putting forward recommendations for the Investment Director’s approval, whilst ensuring the suitability of holdings for client portfolios.
The job holder will write to clients and report any changes to their portfolio including sales, purchases, corporate actions etc. as required; resolve client queries; prepare for and attend client meetings. They will also carry out desk research as necessary so that investment and technical knowledge is maintained and increased. This includes maintaining up to date knowledge of and adherence to current regulatory requirements.
In addition the successful candidate will contribute towards the continuing development of Rathbone Greenbank by participating in projects, committees and other activities as requested from time to time. They will also assist in seeking new business through preparation of investment proposals and attendance at marketing events.
Applicants must be educated to at least degree level with a strong academic record. They must have appropriate industry qualifications (ideally Level 7) and be RDR compliant (i.e. CISI Masters in Wealth Management).
Applicants must have several years’ post-qualification experience in a similar Investment Management firm. They should be both investment and client focussed.
Proficiency with Excel and Word is essential and experience with Factset and a Client Relationship Management system would be useful.
Candidates must have a demonstrable interest in social, environmental and ethical issues, and be committed to principles of sustainability in their investment management approach.
This role should in due course lead to the successful candidate developing a portfolio of clients.
