Inspired by faith, Livability supports over 1,000 disabled people and their families each year through a range of residential, support, education, holidays and lifestyle services as well as partnering with the Church and other organisations to create socially inclusive communities.

Over the last year a new Chair and Chief Executive have been appointed, a new 5 year growth strategy published, the Archbishop of Canterbury became our President and an executive leadership team developed who share the vision and have the energy to achieve ambitious results. The strong asset base and low gearing of the organisation gives Livability an unprecedented opportunity.

This is not just a finance role. The Director of Resources will play a crucial role in helping Livability achieve its ambitions. This is a wide brief encompassing finance, estates and IT. You will obviously ensure that a rolling quarterly forecast and other financial information is delivered accurately and on time. However the role is also a conduit of support, helping colleagues recognise the story that financial data communicates. And as a critical member of the senior team, you will be involved in all the strategic decisions.

You will have a commercial head and a charity heart; with an understanding of the sector and in particular experience of managing large estates. You will be strategic and solutions orientated, appreciating the business partnership approach to work and recognise that you are there to service the rest of the organisation. You are comfortable with contract negotiation, have an understanding of Livability’s work and have a track record of being part of a growing and dynamic business. With strong leadership skills and an ability to get on with all people, you will be enthused by your faith to deliver the best outcomes for our beneficiaries.

Livability has a Christian ethos and there is an occupational requirement for a practising Christian for this role under the Equality Act 2010.
