Committed to celebrating life and with a mission to ‘make every day count’, East Cheshire Hospice and its supporting team of 600 volunteers aim to provide the highest quality of care and support for those suffering from life-limiting illnesses. Occupying a unique place in the community, the Hospice has a 15 bed in-patient unit, created as part of a £4m refurbishment and re-build programme, which also included the inspirational Sunflower Day Centre, designed to further enhance the extensive care and support needed by patients, their families and carers.

The Hospice celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2013 and is now seeking a new Chairman to build on what has been achieved and oversee the successful delivery of its ambitious five year strategy, guiding it into its positive future. This is an unremunerated position with a responsibility to provide motivational and inclusive leadership to a team of highly committed employees, trustees and volunteers.

By bringing complementary skills and experience and introducing new networks and contacts, the new Chairman will be central to the Hospice’s development in a challenging yet highly rewarding sector. With an excellent track record at board and senior executive level in either the private or public sectors, your collaborative leadership style, commercial instinct and astute judgment will enable you to further the Hospice’s many community and corporate relationships.
