Key responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with IVCC staff, product development partners and donors to track and report on product development and implementation plans from original concept through final implementation
  • Identify and assess key risks at the project/program level
  • Serve as a thought partner to stakeholders on product development challenges, metrics, best practices and approaches, and assist with identifying solutions
  • In collaboration with donors, develop and encourage use of tools and methodologies for project/program management to enable effective decision making and transparency
  • Effectively manage information flow with key internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Provide single point of contact for assigned projects and initiatives
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure clear alignment on timelines, costs, risks, alternative pathways and resource scheduling
  • Ensure adequate governance and information systems are in place
  • Assist in the development of business portfolio financial models to support IVCC in analyzing where key decisions need to be made and identify future funding requirements
  • Manage additional technical projects, business development projects and market research initiatives as assigned


  • Masters qualification in one of the life sciences
  • Proven experience of professional program / project management experience in the agricultural, biotech, pharmaceutical industries or a product development-related industry
  • An MBA or business exposure would be an advantage

Experience and skills:

  • Understanding of, and familiarity with product development processes, regulatory issues, delivery pipelines and their complexities

Knowledge of the following:        

  • Integrated product development project management (methodology, metrics, best practices)
  • Project management, implementation planning and associated tools
  • Risk assessment and management (mitigation and contingency plans)
  • Scheduling and critical path analysis
  • Government Contract Management
  • Budget and resource planning, analysis and control
  • A keen interest in working at the interface of science, product development and innovation delivery in an international setting
  • Strong oral and written communications
