Job description:
With a proud history spanning almost 200 years, the RNLI achieves its mission of saving lives at sea thanks to more than 35,000 volunteers and 1,200 employees, based at its headquarters in Poole and around the coast at lifeboat stations and beaches. To date, we have saved more than 140,000 lives and we are going from strength to strength.
You will ensure that we have the sound financial and commercial foundations we need to continue to thrive, as you build productive working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders, champion best practice and deliver expert financial support to all business areas. As a member of the Executive Team, you will enjoy considerable input into decision-making and will facilitate the formulation, development and control of the Strategic Plan, Business Plan and Annual Budget – so you canexpect enormous visibility and responsibility.
A qualified accountant, you should be familiar with leading financial management in a geographically dispersed and complex organisation. In particular, you will be well versed in corporate financial planning, with sound understanding of continuous improvement and change management, plus proven leadership ability. Finally, experience of charity accounting and fund management would be a significant advantage, but more importantly you will bring a demonstrable record of delivering at boardlevel, plus real passion for everything we do.
