Kelda Group’s regulated business consists principally of Yorkshire Water which manages the collection, treatment and distribution of water around the Yorkshire region, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day.
To help us achieve our vision of ‘taking responsibility for the water environment for good’ we have a vacancy for a
Group Tax Manager to join the Group Tax and Treasury team. Reporting to the Group Treasurer, your role will involve the management and preparation of corporation tax returns for the group, with the support of a qualified tax professional and you will be the primary contact for HM Revenue & Customs. Year end tax accounting falls within the remit of this role too, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS. You will also be responsible for researching and considering the tax implications of new transactions and ventures proposed by the business and professional advisers, supporting the Group Treasurer where appropriate.
Essentially you will be an experienced ACA and/or CTA with detailed corporate tax knowledge, gained in either a major professional accountancy firm or in an in-house tax function in industry. Experience of the utilities sector and some VAT knowledge would be beneficial, but is not essential. This is a senior management position and as such, ideally you will have experience of leading and managing a team.
